I can't reproduce this bug, as gvim doesn't use gnome-vfs by default. Did you recompile gvim to use gnome-vfs?
Comment by Benoit C (benoitc) - Friday, 04 August 2006, 12:24 GMT
I use gvim & gnome-vfs official package . The problem occur whenn you launch gvim from terminal. More over gvim segfault after a while. When you launch gvim from menu it seems ok.

Could you use the -f option of strace? gvim forks and quits strace after it has been started.

Which versions of glib2 and gtk2 do you have installed? I found something on the internet that looks like your problem: http://www.archivesat.com/VIM_editor_users_help/thread570883.htm

However, looking at how they try to reproduce the problem, I can't reproduce it on my own system.
Comment by Jan de Groot (JGC) - Saturday, 05 August 2006, 10:14 GMT
Testing some more, I was able to reproduce the bug. However, it did not crash over here, but it does show up the CRITICAL warnings. This, together with running a 2.13 or 2.15 series of gnome-session would make gvim crash as soon as you get these. It looks like this bug is triggered when you use the "set browsedir=last" option in your gvimrc.

[benoitc@marduk gvim]$ pacman -Q gtk2
gtk2 2.10.1-1
[benoitc@marduk gvim]$ pacman -Q glib2
glib2 2.12.1-1

yeah the problem seems like mine. weird anyway. Maybe related to gnome-vfs new version ?

Comment by Benoit C (benoitc) - Saturday, 05 August 2006, 10:33 GMT
Did more tests . It seem that when you launch gvim without the dot (gvim .) it doesn't segfault. libgnomevfs warning are still there.

upgrading to 7.0.63 (last patchset on 2006-08-19) solve the problem.
