Description:
Using the Lenovo X1 Carbon 2016 (4th gen) I can observer the following behaviour: - external screens is turned off for a few seconds every few minutes - moving the *mouse pointer* to the external screen seems *sometimes* to trigger turning it off - moving the mouse pointer back to the internal screen sometimes causes distortions in the open chromium window - scrolling (two finger scroll) in chromium on the internal screen sometimes causes distortions This behaviour makes the computer almost unusable, because it is very unreliable to work with it, thus raising severity to High. Trying Option "DRI" "2" now.
It occurred right after I upgraded (and rebooted) my kernel from 4.7.6-1 to 4.8.4-1. Also the problem sounds very similar to these issues in ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1634449, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1553503
However with modeline from time to time I see a diagonal "transparent" line passing from top to bottom.
I feel like being back in the 90s - CRTs with wrong frequencies anyone?
Scrolling on the external monitor (f.i. in chromium) more often causes the screen to turn black than just moving the cursor onto that screen.
