Description:
Use vlc to play a video, vlc would eat all my memory, and caused the system to hang up (sometimes crash) finally

Steps to reproduce:
Use vlc to play any video

There is already a patch http://git.videolan.org/?p=vlc.git;a=commit;h=66dc09662ae33d44c21a5159885afdcaabb0cbb0
But it seams that 3.0 won't be released soon
