Noticed that your language is spanish too. Tested with "LC_ALL=C hexchat" and other languages and it doesn't crash.

The spanish translation had bugs, mainline was already fixed: https://github.com/hexchat/hexchat/commit/bb8f0beabe25823fb2ea6190af58de98b4a4b05a
hexchat-git works now.
