Description:
kwin_wayland immidately exits in TTY with string
Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:

Options also cannot be passed to it.

* package version - 5.8.0


Steps to reproduce:
Switch to tty
try to run kwin_wayland

kwin_wayland requires an X server running. Try kwin_wayland --xwayland

Options not working.
Try to use kwin_wayland --help in tty. It only complains about cannot open display.

What do you mean? It complains when you run 'kwin_wayland --help'? Have you tried 'kwin_wayland --xwayland'?

No success with recent kwin 5.8.1.

Every option cause this warning and immidately kills kwin.

What are you exactly trying to do? I can't think of a use case for running kwin manually from tty

Initially i was trying to run startplasmacompositor to use KDE:) And saw this error. Next I moved to kwin.

And have you tried doing it the supported way? ie. install plasma-wayland-session and start it from a DM?

Yes, I just cannot go past login screen (LightDM and GDM-Wayland). It just accept passwords, blacks screen and popping up DM again.
