Reason for closing:  Upstream
Additional comments about closing:  systemd-231-4 no longer reexecs on upgrade from 231-{1,2}

It's a bug in 231-1, not 231-3. Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done to fix this.

Ok. I think a possibel workaround is to exclude systemd, libsystemd and systemd-sysvcompatfrom upgrading, then update them in a seperate step. So you would minimize the risk to crash during update

To be clear: there's no "crash". You'll have to reboot, but it's feasible to do so cleanly.

I'll push a 231-4 which excludes the reexec on upgrade if the old version is 231-1. That'll cause different problems, but it won't be an immediate loss of X session.
