Description:
Setting it manually or via gnome-tweak-tool, "icon on desktop" option do nothing. The desktop "Mode" is "fixed" to a simple background without icon. Additional info: * package version(s) : gnome 3.22.0. testings repo enabled. Steps to reproduce: - Open gnome-tweak-tool and select the "Desktop" tab - Try enable or disable "Icons on desktop". Nothing happen. This is my first bug report. If I did something wrong, please tel me ^.^ |
This task depends upon
Changing the option will not automatically launch nautilus-desktop, so either start it yourself or log out and log in after changing the setting.
I tried to get some logs about this "nautilus-desktop" because it wasn't launching. Here is what I got:
``
** (nautilus-desktop:16917): WARNING **: Desktop icons only supported on X11. Desktop not created
``
Problem is: Gnome 3 launch in "wayland" (via XWayland) by default (I assume this because I start from a clean install and only have installed xserver(+ some drivers) and gnome3 meta). So, if I understand correctly, the true bug is "gnome-tweak-tool" showing this option while the system can't support it...
Maybe I should go on gnome dev instead of here (because it's seams not only "arch related").
thanks you again.
