After upgrading to GNOME 3.22, screen and mutter give lots of awkward visual glitches. Downgrading to 3.20 solves the issue. Steps to reproduce: 1. Use testing to upgrade to GNOME 3.22 2. Reboot the system 3. After boot and login, screen flickers 4. Open Settings panel, go to Displays 5. Change the native resolution to a scaled one 6. Flicker stops 7. Use mouse to hover into shell components (aggregate menu) 8. Lots of interface glitches |
This task depends upon
GNOME 3.22 defaults to Wayland now, older versions use Xorg by default.
The monitor configuration seems to confuse 1080 and 1080i.
