bird 1.6.1 has an bug within the kernel protocol which currently was fixed by an unofficial
fix (if you use an plain 1.6.1, it segfaults if you had >20 Prefixes which needs to be exported/imported by the kernel protocol).

For know it exist an Fix on the Bird Mailinglist, which fixes the bug on my environments. Attach this fix.

New Version 1.6.2 is out, which address this bug and fix it. Please Upgrade the Package to 1.6.2 and close this bug. thanks
