I'm trying to slim down OOo, compiling from source using as
many system libraries as possible. One of those libraries is
db4, but it requires the java bindings too- could
--enable-java be added to the configure options? Thanks!

the alternative is that packages like openoffice have to be built with internally linked libraries.
I have kept a note in the PKGBUILD about this issue. I have to use the db that comes in the OOo source tarball instead.
