Description:
opensmtpd has a feature where if a process tries to send mail before the smtpd daemon is up - the mail is placed in /var/spool/smtpd/offline; when the daemon starts - it will read and send them. In the new version, this fails due to wrong group of this directory: it should have been smtpq, while installation sets it to root. I am bitten by this problem constantly, since I use smartd, which sends test mail upon boot, before smtpd is started. |

Additional comments about closing: User requested: Seems like this problem is relevant only on upgrade: when I removed the directory - it was recreated with the correct group. I guess that previous version had other group owner for this directory.

I do not think "installation sets it" to anything. The directory
is created by OpenSMTPd itself. So it probably is an upstream bug?
