Description:

after upgrading:

atom 1.10.2-2 old -> 1.10.2-3 new
electron 1.3.6-1 old -> 1.4.0-1 new

in the new atom, I can still activate input method(fcitx), but cannot input content via input method.

I tried these combinations:

old atom + new electron: atom cannot start, electron process is present, no atom process, no window
new atom + old electron: atom cannot start, electron and atom process is present, no window
old atom + old electron: works
new atom + new electron: this issue

I'm not sure is atom or electron package cause this issue.
This task depends upon

I found what causes the problem looking at the similar issue [1]. In Chromium 53 the order in which the events compisitionend and textInput are fired have been switched, as explained in comment [2]. As a result, this piece of code:

https://github.com/atom/atom/blob/d3291f14127c7f2c58c052cc74e016adb5716cdf/src/text-editor-component.coffee#L316

reverts the editor state to the one prior the text input. I'm working on a fix.
