Status with current networkmanager? A backtrace would be simpler than the entire strace.

Crap, nevermind, it wasn't networkmanager I was remembering the update on.

So it seems the nm-applet SIGSEGV always follows the NetworkManager core dump https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/50788. And nm-applet does not seem to be able to handle NetworkManager dying from under it.
