Description:
Since 4.7, currently on 4.7.2-1, and on 4.8.0-rc6-g3eab887, I cannot log into the system. The screen flickers at boot and goes black: no console is visible. 4.6.4 is fine; looking at the logs, the first notable message I found is

amd_nb: Cannot enumerate AMD northbridges

The only discussion I found involving this message is
https://lkml.org/lkml/2016/6/15/940
and it seems unrelated.

Additional info:
Attaching journals from 4.7.2 and 4.8.0... (bad) and 4.6.4 (good)

Steps to reproduce:
Install 4.7.2-1 (or others) and boot.

Does it work with "nomodeset" on the kernel command line? What driver are you using?

Sorry for not responding promptly. In any case, apparently the issue is fixed in 4.7.6. Annoying, and yet, refreshing /o\ (Wasn't sure how else to comment except in the re-open request)
