Description: Receiving segmentation fault upon startup. Mentions to appstream-glib are made by GDB and dmesg output.

Additional info:

gnome-software 3.20.4-1
appstream-glib 0.5.17-1

* config and/or log files etc.
$ dmesg | grep appstream

Is this still happen for you with gnome-software 3.26.5-2? Then please post a proper backtrace.
