Description:

Starting from linux 4.7.3 and linux-lts 4.4.20, keyboard input doesn't work in the initramfs stage on a Dell Latitude E5550. linux 4.7.2 and linux-lts 4.4.19 are fine.

I found that manually adding "i8042" to the MODULES list in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf fixes the problem for the "default" initramfs image. This commit, present in both 4.7.3 and 4.4.20, seems to be related: https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=4097461897df91041382ff6fcd2bfa7ee6b2448c.

Additional info:
* linux 4.7.3
* linux-lts 4.4.20

Attached file:
* dmesg from a successful boot
   dmesg (60.6 KiB)
