Hi there,

about 10 days ago I've installed Archlinux 0.7.2 from CD-ROM (base) and installed some packages and updated the system (pacman -Syu). Everything works fine on my HP Omnibook 6000 Laptop with an old 10 Mbit 3Com PCMCIA CArd in one of Omnibokks PCMCIA/PC-Card Slots. Tuesday ord Wednesday Last week I made an update (pacman -Syu) again and after reboot there is no network available. lsmod schows me that the appropriate module is beeing loaded and an ifconfig -all shows me the eth0 interface but there is no IP adress assigned via dhcp (it works before) and no traffic on the interface. The green LED on thhe cards cord is on but goes off if the the pint Network is reached during booting. As a test I disabled the entry network in the DEAMONS array (/etc/rc.conf) and the green LED is still on.

I guess that there are some changes in the procedure of initializing the network are happened. Is there a way to get the card working again?

regards,

Frank

Maybe it is a udev issue. Read /etc/udev/readme-udev-arch.txt and see if creating udev rules or by explicitly loading modules in /etc/rc.conf solves the problem.
