Description:
named (DNS forwarding) floods the journal with useless messages ("network unreachable resolving [...]") when the network is unreachable. It's so bad that in a matter of minutes several megabytes of logs can be recorded. It also makes it difficult to look through the log for actually useful information. This is particularly troublesome on wireless devices, where a network connection is not always available or has yet to be attained as when coming out of sleep/halt states. Additional info: * package version(s) All as far as I can tell * config and/or log files etc. I've messed with it but can't seem to suppress or log these messages elsewhere. Steps to reproduce: Install named for DNS forwarding/caching and disconnect from the network. |
