QLandkarteGTin [community] [0] is not maintained anymore
according to its website [1].
It is superseded by QMapShack [2]. There exists an AUR package for QMS [3] and the package works reasonably well. I propose to move QMS to [community] and promote it actively as a replacement for QLGT. Aside from a few smaller issues on my side i see one big questionmark: QMS states to be available for 64bit, not supporting 32bit systems. according to the package statistics [4] (which are by no means representative, i know) i686 is only accounting ~4%. Mabye one could leave QLGT as legacy in the repo for a while and seehow usage in the statistics shifts before replacing it completely? thank you for considering this [0] https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/qlandkartegt/ [1] http://www.qlandkarte.org/index.html [2] https://bitbucket.org/maproom/qmapshack/wiki/Home [3] https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/qmapshack/ [4] https://www.archlinux.de/?page=PackageStatistics |
