Description:
Gitlab 8.11 got released today (22.08.2016) and part of the changelog states this:
- Update to Ruby 2.3.1. !4948
source: https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq/blob/master/CHANGELOG
Currently, we use ruby2.1 from the repos, but I suppose that should no longer be the case.

Apologies, I meant to say:
Currently, we use ruby2.1 from the repos, but I suppose that should no longer be the case.
