mkinitcpio(8) does not mention in "Early Init Environment" the rootflags= boot option. I struggled for a while finding a way to mount a ReiserFS rootfs with acl,user_xattr.

Having it listed there would help.

Isn't this kernel command line, not initcpio?

I should have said _mount from the initramfs_. rootflags= allows us to pass arbitrary options to initramfs' mount and in my case enable ReiserFS ACLs and XATTRs before systemd-remount-fs (via systemd-remount-fs.service) run "mount / -o remount" to apply fstab options.
