DetailsThere has already been a discussion on the mailing list [1] and the clear consensus was that hooks are superior [2] since they are run after every packages has been updated and therefore consider up-to-date files and not possibly already altered ones. A patch ist readily available at [1] and it should be straightforward to fix.
