Description:
john comes with python scripts living in /usr/share/john
These python scripts expect python2 but have "#!/usr/bin/env python" at the top.

Additional info:
* package version(s) john 1.8.0.jumbo1-1
* config and/or log files etc.
Exmaple-Log:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/john/pdf2john.py", line 318, in <module>
filename = sys.argv[j].decode('UTF-8')
AttributeError: 'str' object has no attribute 'decode'

Call
/usr/share/john some_pdf.pdf

And why would you call scripts in /usr/share/john directly?

Oh, I meant

/usr/share/john/pdf2john.py some_pdf.pdf > myhash.txt

Is there another way to extract the hash of a pdf file without calling pdf2john.py?
