Details

Description: Launching virtualbox 5.1.2-1 fails with the error in the subject. Clicking on "details", the following message is shown:

The last system update did not touch any virtualbox packages, instead the following packages were upgraded:

Some old reports for similar virtualbox errors mention libvpx as the culprit, so it might be its upgrade that broke virtualbox.

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  There was a one minute gap between libvpx and virtualbox. Either you got extremely unlucky or this was a partial update.

Confirm on virtualbox 5.0.24-1

Downgrade libvpx (with dependency package) solved this problem.

Today's virtualbox upgrade to 5.1.2-2 also fixes the problem.
