My prism card is fully supported under linux (i installed its firmware files over a year ago, it used to work back then through the network service). I have the /etc/conf.d/wireless configured, I have disabled the "network" service on /etc/rc.conf and i instead use dhcpbd and networkmanager. NetworkManager will indeed connect my ethernet card, but it chokes on my PCMCIA wifi card.

Also, where is the gnome-panel NetworkManager applet? I can't find it anywhere! It is supposed to be part of the package.

Hi Eugenia,

Somehow, your bug was created in the AUR project, hence the confusion.

I've moved it over to the main Arch project and, I think, assigned it to the maintainer for NetworkManager (Arjan).

Regards,
Paul

The gnome applet for networkmanager is in gnome-networkmanager. About the wireless card that doesn't work: does it work when you configure it using iwconfig?

did you read the comments over here ?

Yes I did. My network is WEP anyway.

ehm, could supply more info, like which driver, exact type of the card, the chipset used etc...

I don't have the card handy anymore. It's a prism card that uses a chipset that Linux supports out of the box (the user needs to only find the firmware, not the driver). The prism54 module is automatically loaded.
