WB displays an error mark (white cross in red square) in the left gutter, signaling there's an error in the query, while there's not.
[CTRL][B] (reformat querie) often remove the mark in the gutter, sometimes not.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
mysql-workbench-6.3.7-1
* config and/or log files etc.
default WB's config

Steps to reproduce:
Just type a query, error mark instantly appears. It should disappear when query does not have error, but it does not. Have a look to the joined screenshot
