Similar to GNOME Maps ( FS#50030 ), GNOME Contacts uses MapQuest Tile Server, which has no longer public access since 2016-07-11. Therefore the map is no longer visible for contacts.

Possible solution is to replace MAP_SOURCE_OSM_MAPQUEST with MAP_SOURCE_OSM_MAPNIK in file src/contacts-address-map.vala.
