Details

GNOME Maps uses MapQuest Tile Server, which has no longer public access since 2016-07-11. Therefore the map is no longer visible, and the application is useless now.

See last comment from the bug, I don't think we want to apply the patches at distribution level until upstream makes a good decision. Applying the patches and rolling out updates to users could cause libchamplain to become blacklisted on OSM.
