There is a bug in the kernel 2.6.17 affecting speedtouch modems. Internet connection is cut when large files are downloaded. Hopefully this is fixed soon and the fix is included in Arch's kernel packages. |

I not sure since I have an ethernet coonnection now and I'm not using the modem anymore.

accorind to kernel bug report it works with .18 kernel, closing this now
