Description:
Linux supports encryption for ext4 filesystems since version 4.1. This can be enabled via CONFIG_EXT4_ENCRYPTION. The recent release of version 1.43 of the e2fsprogs, which recently entered [testing], finally added encryption support using the e4cyrpt utility.

I think this would provide a nice alternative to the already existing options like ecryptfs or dm-crypt.
