Description:

In the latest version of libreoffice-fresh (5.1.4-1) I cannot scroll through documents using the mousewheel in writer or calc anymore.

Actually it's a thinkpad and I'm using the red button and the middle button to scroll.

Downgrading to 5.1.3-2 fixes this bug.

This seems laptop related. Scrolling with a mouse works for me.
Comment by Christian Seemann (csmnn) - Friday, 01 July 2016, 09:16 GMT
It's the same for me. Can't scroll in any Libreoffice application.
I am using a Lenovo laptop. Scrolling doesn't work neither with a touchpad (configured for two-finger-scroll) or a usb-connected mouse (mouse-wheel).

Seems to affect just Libreoffice. Other applications work fine.

A downgrade to 5.1.3-2 fixed it for now.

Check: https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/log/?id=libreoffice-5.1.4.2&qt=grep&q=scroll

Maybe this commit is the culprint:
https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=9536bef4baeb476a54ce7cd382ded1f594efa69f

You might want to try to revert that commit or bisect the bug. Anyway please file an upstream bug to the LibO fdo tracker.

I can scroll using usb mouse and touchpad here with a Lenovo ThinkPad Edge e330.

Scrolling using the middle click + trackpoint does nothing, but using two finger scrolling works here on my X220.

I will at some point do a bisect to find the commit to blame.

For now a downgrade will have to do.

I'm surprised nobody has reported such a bug to the upstream tracker yet.

Scrolling with VNC is also broken with normal mouse.

Someone affected should report this please to the LibO devs. We aware new versions will be released very soon.

Now it is fixed in libreoffice (still) 5.1.5.

But 5.2 (fresh) does not work yet.

I found a bug report: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1349501

and the commit https://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?h=libreoffice-5-1&id=bda6bce91555861f604a74b8f3d6cc6cd35c11c4

LibO-fresh should be fixed in 5.2.0-4. Please report back.

BTW: this should only affect gtk3 vcl. Generic and kde should work.
Comment by Christian Seemann (csmnn) - Sunday, 28 August 2016, 22:20 GMT
Just upgraded to 5.2.0-4 and set GDK_CORE_DEVICE_EVENTS=1 again.

It is fixed for me.
Thanks.

5.2.0-4 works here, too.
Thank you!
