DetailsThe gamin server, which provides File Alteration Monitoring functionality, is notorious for eating lots of CPU power (up to 80-99%), while providing no to very little benefit. So it should not be included by default.
I had it disabled for a long time (by renaming the executable), and KDE works fine without it.
