Description:

When installing wordpress there are installed two plugins (Akismet, Hello Dolly) as well. Why? They are deactivated and out of date. Shouldn't that be just the wordpress package without any plugins?

It appears that upstream ships them that way.

Yes. The wordpress package is just the contents of the wordpress tarball, as provided by upstream. This is not a packaging issue.

You could maybe report this as a feature request to the wordpress developers.
