Details

I use a fresh install of Gimmick, including Xorg and Gnome (installed via pacman). Network works correctly, setup is laptop to router/gateway to WAN, via DHCP.

Using Nautilus in order to connect to a WebDEV-server fails. I tried to reach the server via dav and davs (Connect to Server -> Service type: WebDAV(HTTP)/WebDAV(HTTPS) -> enter server and user-name -> Connect). After following mentioned procedure (which works for FreeBSD, Fedora Core 5 and Knoppix [using Konqueror -> webdavs://...]) a link on my desktop is created. But when I try to access the folder, right after entering the (correct) password, I get a "Couldn't find12345@abc.def""> dav://12345@abc.def"; error message.

Since I can connect flawlessly from several other systems, using the same server and method, I assume this is an Arch specific bug.

That's odd. I tried several times, password and server are correct, network is up. I just can't get behind the password prompt. I do the same thing as in FreeBSD, but it won't login.

Since it works for you, I guess its my fault -- but I don't have the slightest idea what's wrong, or what else to check for. ^^

try putting the folder in?

I loaded coda.ko to give davfs2 a try, same problem (/sbin/mount.davfs: Connection failed, mounting anyway. File system will only be usable when connection comes up). Both KDE KIO-Slave and access via cadaver work. Mounting davfs as a local filesystem (at least the server I try) seem to cause the problem, not nautilus. I'm not a professional and I don't know what's set up wrong. Anyway, sorry for wasting your time. :)
