Description:

I used gnome-boxes to load an ISO from the IANA DNSSEC key ceremony (see link below) and when it tries to run, it makes the system incredibly laggy and I had to reboot.

ISO source: https://data.iana.org/ksk-ceremony/25/KC-20160503.iso.
Note: It's 563MB.

I successfully run other VMs (Ubuntu 14, 16, and Windows 7 with no issues).

I was able to SSH remotely and observe all 8 cores of my cpu at close to 100% usage. There was no paging to disk AFAICT.

If there's additional debugging or logs I can provide, please let me know. I believe this is easily reproducible.

Relevant packages:
gnome-boxes 3.20.2-1
libvirt 1.3.5-1
linux 4.6.2-1

Steps to reproduce:
1) Use gnome-boxes (or virtual machine manager) to load ISO referenced above.
2) Start the vm based on the ISO.
3) It seems to start CentOS distro but then hangs (there was an error message displayed in the VM screen, but I didn't write it down, I could track this down)
4) The system becomes unresponsive and very laggy. Switching to VT seems to not work. I was able to remote SSH in, but commands were slow to respond.

Hello,
I am the new maintainer. Is this issue still a problem? If I don't get any response I'll close this bug in 1 week.
It's already over a year old.

Hello Christian,

I just tried again, and it seems to work fine with the ISO I had listed. I was able to boot the OS in the VM without system issues. The mouse behavior was a little wonky (seemed to be offset).

gnome-boxes 3.26.2-1
libvirt 3.9.0-2
linux 4.14.5-1
