Description:

The problem is that, on a 64-bit system, 32-bit apps might fail if there are no 32-bits sssd client libraries. For example Civilization V will fail as explained here:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/8930/discussions/1/540744299757883648/

Also the sssd troubleshooting guide also mentions this problem. See question: "I configured SSSD for central authentication, but now several of my applications (such as Firefox or Adobe) will not start."

https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/6/html/Deployment_Guide/SSSD-Troubleshooting.html

Having a sss client package in multilib would fix this issue. I might add that not having the 32-bit client installed can lead to confusing bugs as in this case for Civilization V which segfaulted on start.

I guess this can be viewed as an issue affecting Steam but from the redhat documentation, any 32-bit application that needs user information on a 64-bit system using sssd is affected. I just happened to notice it on a steam 32-bit game.
