This bug is reported upstream here: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=759980

Can we please apply the patch added in comment 11 to the archlinux build? This fixes what is otherwise an issue causing near-complete unusability, and the only reason it wasn't pushed into today's 0.11 release was due to Geary still supporting GTK+ 3.10, which isn't of any concern to Arch users.

Patch is found here:

Actually, the patch was refreshed to fix a minor GTK 3.20 issue with a menubar still showing. The new patch is here:

Actually, 0.11.1 didn't carry the patch and it still needs to be applied. I will check upstream as to why it wasn't included

Checked upstream and it the patch was pushed to 0.12.0 branch, but not the 0.11.x branch. This patch messes up compatibility with gtk older than 3.10 apparently, so they are going to hold off on pushing it until 0.12 when they will drop support for anything older than gtk 3.18. Since we obviously don't care about gtk 3.10 support, hopefully we can build geary with this patch. As of now, whenever you open up the settings tab it locks up the whole machine.
