In /usr/share/webapps/gitlab are two broken symlinks now: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 32 May 7 17:40 .gitlab_shell_secret -> /etc/webapps/gitlab-shell/secret lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 26 May 7 17:40 .secret -> /etc/webapps/gitlab/secret Since the final file got renamed to secrets.yml. Well you actually do need 3 secret files. The symlinks are broken by design. The post-install instruction tell you to put content into the secret files and to also copy the rails secrets.yml file.
