After updating to kernel 4.5.1 the X-server does not start. When I downgrade to kernel 4.4.5 all is fine again.

I have attached two logfiles for the two kernel versions.

I have been in contact with the driver developer @freedesktop.org and already compiled and tested the version (but not from the testing repo).

The problem was not the driver, but the kernel-module viafb.ko claiming the same memory as the via Xorg driver. I resolved this by adding kernel Parameters: "video=vesa:off vga=normal"
