Ever since upgrading Gnome-Keyring to 3.20 the variable SSH_AUTH_SOCK is not set. This causes the ssh-agent not to work. If the variable is manually set then the ssh-agent begins to work again. From this I assume the gnome-keyring SSH agent is starting correctly, just not setting up the variables (maybe).

Both reports are for the Cinnamon DE so it could be Cinnamon specific but I am raising the bug against Gnome-Keyring as rolling Gnome-Keyring back to the version prior to 3.20 makes things work correctly again.

Cheers !

Reason for closing:  Fixed
Additional comments about closing:  Closing as the original bug in Cinnamon has been resolved upstream. If there really is an outstanding issue in Gnome 3.20, that should be opened as its own bug.

As I said in the first of those reports, this bug also happens (intermittently) for me on GNOME 3 so it is not specific to Cinnamon.

I have the same problem (and am also a Cinnamon user). SSH Agent has always worked fine but suddenly stopped working after updates.

Doing pacman -Syu fixed this the other day. I guess it was the upgrade of Cinnamon and Cinnamon-Desktop. Closing issue...

@rieez85, as I said above, this bug is not specific to Cinnamon.

Honestly I think from the links you are experiencing a different bug with same or similar symptoms. The problem me and Ian were having were with the fact Cinnamon had not adapted to Gnome Keyring 3.20 yet.
