Is the i915 kernel module loaded? If not, what happens when you modprobe it?

Ping?

I get the following error:
modprobe : FATAL: Module i915 not found in directory /lib/modules/4.4.5-1-ARCH

This is quite peculiar sincethe output of uname -r is 4.4.5-1-ARCH, yet pacman says the 4.5-1 kernel is installed.

Ah, then we have the root of the problem. Your bootloader is still finding an old kernel image, usually because /boot wasn't mounted when you did the upgrade. The only modules that will work are the ones in the initramfs. This isn't a bug, so I'm going to close this. If you need more help straightening it out, use the forums, mailing lists, or IRC.
