Description:
Xfce4-terminal does not update utmp, resulting to not displaying pseudo-terminal (pty) user sessions using various commands e.g. w, who, users etc. This issue seems to be Arch-related because the same xfce4-terminal version at Debian testing works as intended. In addition, xterm reports pty sessions correctly on the same Arch system. It is very likely that this issue is related to vte and not xfce4-terminal as standalone software. Additional info: * package version: 0.6.3-2 Steps to reproduce: Issue w, who, users on a xfce4-terminal. Only tty sessions will be reported. |

Additional comments about closing: This has been deprecated for years and finally removed from vte over 6 months ago. It's by design.
The fact that debian still registers terminal windows in utmp is because they're running old software.
