is it possible to remove the xorg dependencies? Since more and more user switching to Wayland by default it makes no sense for me that xorg packages are still an hard dependency.

Last time I tried, the shell refused to run without Xwayland.

Hi,

i looked into this and it seems that Mutter ist to blame because it need some X Components: https://git.gnome.org/browse/mutter/tree/configure.ac#n61 Sorry that i bothered you with this question then i get the answer myself with a little ivestigating. I hoped that i can get rid of all parts of X because i'm running Wayland without problems.

I would say that this Bug can be closed as long as Mutter still has X dependencies.

Indeed.

So not yet; probably not soon, either. Even if we could run without XWayland, X will still be entangled with many libraries.
