DetailsDescription:
I have a Dell XPS 9550 with a Skylake processor. With the latest version of the driver and Xfce, my screen always flickers randomly, no matter what I do. I'm running Linux 4.5 but I think the problem existed with 4.4.5 as well. Additional info: * Version: 1:2.99.917+587 * Xfce Version: 4.12.3-1 Steps to reproduce: - Upgrade to the latest version. - Start Xfce. Fixes: - Downgrade to xf86-video-intel-1:2.99.917+579+g74cd4d0. |

Problem exists with an unmodified xorg.conf as well with: Option "DRI" "3"

Update: seems like I didn't test enough. The problem came back as soon as I started a full-screen video in VLC.

Please check with latest git commits and if still broken please report the regression upstream.

Seems that the problem is actually with the kernel (4.5) and not this package. Source: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1615802#p1615802. The 'fix' doesn't work for me but downgrading to 4.4.5 fixed the issue. Sorry for the confusion.

Can confirm screen flicker this past week since upgrading xf86-intel. I'm using GNOME and latest 4.6.4-1 kernel.

Ishbir, are you still seeing this? there's a request to close the ticket saying it's fixed.

I don't see any flickering anymore. I was the one who requested that the issue be closed.

I am still experiencing the problem. How can I fix this? I can't downgrade to xf86-video-intel-1:2.99.917+579+g74cd4d0 because I can't find the tar for it.
