DetailsBoth lshwd and hwd show the wrong video driver for my Chips and Tech graphics chipset in my laptop. It shows vesa. It should show chips. (I use the chips driver in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf file).
Here is the output: #hwd -s HARDWARE DETECT ver 4.8.2 (simple mode) Kernel : 2.6.17-ARCH Soundcard : No sound card Video : C&T|F65555 HiQVPro server: Xorg (vesa) Driver : xf86-video-vesa Monitor : TOS5082 H: 28.0-96.0kHz V: 50.0-75.0Hz Mouse : Generic PS/2 Wheel Mouse xtype: PS2 device: /dev/psaux [root@myarch ~]# lshwd 00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp.|440BX/ZX - 82443BX/ZX Host bridge (AGP disabled) (unknown) 00:02.0 CardBus bridge: Toshiba|ToPIC97 (yenta_socket) 00:02.1 CardBus bridge: Toshiba|ToPIC97 (yenta_socket) 00:04.0 VGA compatible controller: C&T|F65555 HiQVPro (vesa) 00:07.0 Bridge: Intel Corp.|82371AB PIIX4 ISA (unknown) 00:07.1 IDE interface: Intel Corp.|82371AB PIIX4 IDE (ata_piix) 00:07.2 USB Controller: Intel Corp.|82371AB PIIX4 USB (uhci_hcd) 00:07.3 Bridge: Intel Corp.|82371AB PIIX4 ACPI - Bus Master IDE Controller (sonypi) 00:0a.0 Communication controller: Toshiba|FIR Port (donauboe) 01:00.0 Ethernet controller: D-Link System Inc.|DFE-690TXD (CardBus PC Card) (8139too) 001:002 USB Mass Storage: BACKPACK USB Cable (usb-storage) 001:001 USB Hub: Virtual|Hub (hub) --:00.6 PCMCIA Network card: D-Link|DFE-690TXD (unknown) ---:--- Mouse: Generic PS/2 Wheel Mouse [/dev/psaux] (msintellips/2) [root@myarch ~]# |

Reason for closing: Fixed
Additional comments about closing: lshwd has been patched to support Xorg 7.x. Be sure to have the drivers installed, as it will list vesa otherwise.
