Details

Is it possible to automatically run cups-genppdupdate after relevant packages are updated (cups, gutenprint, ?)
Running system updates breaks printing every now and then and it's somewhat tedious to search for the cause and then update drivers manually...

It's an Archs rule to leave admin work to the admin. Pacman doesn't know if a serious (printing) job is running that would break when running post.install commands.

Sounds like a job for a local hook, if you really want to do it.

BTW: running cups-genppdupdate is only required on gutenprint updates where pacman post.update scriptlet remembers you to run it.

So won't implement.
