Here is an issue I've posted on nemo's github page: https://github.com/linuxmint/nemo/issues/1097#issuecomment-185707270 In the newest version of nemo, which the package is shipping, the feature to disable desktop icons is temporarily broken. Using a slightly older version (I got one using Arch Rollback Machine) fixes this issue. Additional info: * package version - nemo-2.8.6.r20.gf539ba5-1 Steps to reproduce: Run nemo. Notice that desktop icons appear. Close nemo, even kill it if need be to remove the icons. Now run "nemo --no-desktop" and notice the icons appear regardless. |

Edit, I see in the upstream report, it's from Manjaro. Arch isn't shipping that, this is a Manjaro problem.
