Description:
Cisco provides a plugin which allows to use services like Netflix from browsers like Firefox.
THe plugin in included by default in Windows installations of the browser, and the source is provided on github:
https://github.com/cisco/openh264

A license needs to be agreed to, as it pertains some arrangement with Cisco to enable Firefox to do this.
There's no explicit download blocking or "I agree to the terms" wall.
Additional configuration in Firefox is needed for the plugin to function, see
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/OpenH264

I don't know whether it would be accepted to include this in the base Firefox package, or if an addon package is wanted, or if this kind of thing belongs in the AUR only. I'm hoping for the first option. The addon can be disabled just like on Windows for users who have an aversion to this kind of thing.

Reason for closing:  Not a bug
Additional comments about closing:  OpenH264 is used for WebRTC only and is already enabled/downloaded by default.

Looks like it's already in the AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/openh264/

I don't think it has a firefox plugin, though.

From the Fedora page: "Upstream firefox versions download and install this plugin by default automatically. Due to it's binary nature, Fedora disables this automatic download."

In Arch it's downloaded by default and is only used for WebRTC as mentioned in the note at the end of [1].

For the <video> tag Firefox uses FFmpeg which is an optional dependency of our Firefox package.
