libevent is now listed as a dep, but without --with-libevent, it's not doing anything

--with-libevent also won't work, MariaDB uses CMake for building. I'll try with -DWITH_LIBEVENT=system, I thought it'll pick this automatically.

I don't think it's possible to build it with libevent. There is no indication of this library in any CMake related file, and none of binary files links to it.

Upstream issue at best.
