Description:

Whenever I focus a gnome terminal window, gnome-terminal-server eats up 5 to 10% CPU on my i7 Haswell.
If the window is still being rendered in the background the CPU load falls to ~0% again.

I came across this issue trying to switch to gnome-terminal, so I don't know of a previous version where it had no problem.
I have no issues with other terminals, including vte3 based ones.

Package versions:
vte3 0.42.3
gtk3 3.18.7
linux 4.4.1
cinnamon 2.8.6
g. term. 3.18.2

Ups, posted it by mistake..

Additional info:
Reported upstream: Bug 761526 (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=761526)

I'm particularly interested in finding if someone else has this problem.
It may not be evident as 10% CPU is barely noticeable, I only noticed because my dusty laptop imediatly ramps up the fan speed.

I replicated this issue in 2 Arch machines (one a VM), but they're similarly configured..

A long time has passed and no one has confirmed replicating the issue.
I would think gnome terminal on cinnamon was a common enough configuration, it appears it isn't or may be the issue too unnoticeable.

At nay rate this issue is no longer present after system update.
Fixed around the time which introduced gnome 3.20 and associated gtk and gtk application updates.
Requesting closure.

For the record, the same terminal was showing no issues if run in awesome under the exact same configurations otherwise.
